Happy thanksgiving all!

Well it was quite the busy week, went to NY next weekend and the boy and I went to the natural history museum! That was super cool!
Then it was down to NC for the holiday with the family. Overall fun. Some ups and downs because, well, you know family. I am so pleased to be home in my bed right now.
This challenge was tough, but I haven't made my own tangles yet. It was a great intro to making my own. So here you go!
Perhaps not totally outta the box with cadent, but I really enjoy this one.
I just love phicops. It's on of my favorites!
Hope that if you live in the states, your turkey days were enjoyable!

The times, they are a-changing

Terrible weekend for sleep. Productive weekend for tangles.
believe I mentioned before that I have narcolepsy. I have been having difficulty with my sleep patterns lately after a failed attempt to change meds which resulted in serotonin syndrome. It sucked and I'm still working hard to get back to normal.
Anyway, Friday night resulted in me finishing this little beauty.

Saturday I had an art date with Gma. She has been down and out since she had to move retirement homes. This place doesn't have as many activities for her and they've been treating her like she's not as coherent as she really is. I'll be showing you our work once we finish it! No Zentangling, but it's gonna be great!
Saturday night resulted in this guy.
Boo Boo (the boyfriend. An extremely southern bartender in New Orleans told him "ok boo boo" when we were down for Mardi Gras. The name stuck.) anyway! Boo boo said it portrayed my mood, like a vortex. I didn't find it as unsettling as he did. What do you think?
Sunday's doodle.
Very circle-y. And octopus-like. I was feeling a little nutty from the lack of sleep. I think that affected it. I couldn't stop adding patterns, and started obsessing with circles. And I am obsessed with octopuses.
And Monday. Today.
I had an appointment with my narcolepsy specialist. I am going to be trying Xyrem now. Which is a little scary. It's a legal form of GHB. But it apparently can be very effective in treating narcolepsy and cataplexy. So I'm hopeful. If my insurance approves it.
I was grouchy about the challenge, honestly. And it was a rough day. I am NOT ambidextrous. But it was fun and definitely made me think differently and create something totally different from my normal stuff. I will be completely honest and admit that I didn't make it as detailed because it was very difficult to use my right hand, but I do like the simplicity.
So, for the challenge for today.

So there's my weekend in the form of zentangles. It's interesting to see the differences in my work from day to day. I can totally see the changes in my mood. I think I need to make more of an effort to journal about that kind of stuff along with the tangles.
Hope you check back for more!

Weekly challenge 193

Hello all!

On this Veteran's day, I honor my grandfathers and my uncle Jere. Thank you for your service and I wish the world was a kinder place that hadn't needed you to risk your lives for us. But you did and I thank you! Thank you to all who serve.
My Grandpa Chaz after he climbed Mt Fuji. My grandmother went to Japan on a cargo ship in order to be with him. She did not climb the mountain. ;-) I only have vague memories of him, as he died of a heart attack when I was three. I wish I knew you more. The stories my grandma tells make me realize that  we would have been great friends, not just family.
My Pop Pop and Gum (I dedicated the breast cancer challenge to her!) they have been married for over 60 years. They've known each other since kindergarten. How cute is that?
And my Uncle Jere, one of the funniest, kindest men I know. The Vietnam war was hard on him and left lasting scars but he still finds humor to be the best medicine of all.

So here's my entry for the THX challenge!
Didn't really do Huggins correctly, and I'm not sure I like it with the other two patterns, but I'm super pleased with the Trio. I may be cutting it out to use elsewhere.

Have a good one!

Seton part deux

heres my second try at Seton for The Diva's Guest challenge #192!
Pretty happy with it. Kind of wish I would have "threaded" the rope part through the seton pattern. Maybe another try for another day!
You can't really tell from the photo but I used silver for the seton pattern. It's quite satisfying to look at in real life. 😊

I'm bored!!!

So it's 830 am and I'm stuck at the car dealer waiting for my car to be done being inspected. Bah. Also, there was frost on my window this morning. Time to hibernate.
The tv news is so depressing. I can't skip the headlines I don't want to listen to.
Awesome nerd moment! The mantis shrimp has the most complex eye system of any known creature.
A dog has two color receptors - blue and green
A human has three - blue, green and red
A butterfly has 5 - blue,green, red and ??
A mantis shrimp has 16. SIXTEEN. SIX-FREAKING-TEEN.
He sees a ridiculous amount of more colors than we do and he doesn't care. He just likes killing. with his MURDER ARMS. Sicko.
Check out the link to learn how crazy his murder arms really are.

My latest doodle. It has nothing to do with the mantis shrimp but now I've got some inspiration for my next one. Definitely going to use some of the same tangles. Anywho, here it is!

Hi again!

So Halloween was fun! Went to NYC to visit my BF. I was Peter Pan. People kept thinking I was Robin Hood. Look at the pixie dust! Gosh!

So, a new doodle!

My first attempt at this week's challenge. It kinda makes my head hurt but I kinda like it.
The flower is from the border of my bedroom at my parents' house.

And one I did just for funsies! It's an old challenge from Diva's website.

I think I'll be trying another for the challenge this week. Look for an update! ☺️
